The City of Carthage has received a Community Forestry Cost-Share grant from the Missouri Department of Conservation to support local urban forestry efforts. With this funding, the City will remove ash trees that are expected to become hazardous due to infestation by the invasive Emerald Ash Borer. In addition, 41 new trees will be planted in Central Park, enhancing the park’s natural beauty and long-term sustainability.

This project reflects Carthage’s commitment to maintaining a healthy and vibrant urban forest for residents and visitors. Stay tuned for updates as the work progresses!
