Function Of Public Works Committee

It shall be the duty of the committee to have general oversight of the streets, alleys and public ways of the city, including all street improvements, street repair, construction of bridges and culverts, establishing all public ways, alteration or vacation of streets or other public ways, or parts of the same, and, generally to observe and report any dangerous condition of any of the streets or public ways of the city, as may be referred to it by the Council. In this connection is shall be deemed the duty of the Street Commissioner to work under the supervision of the committee to have general oversight over public related matters involving the City Government and City Ordinances, and further to perform such duties pertaining to public health matters as may be referred to it by the Mayor and City Council.
