County Burning Regulations
Any waste generated by a business, trade, industry, salvage or demolition operation cannot be burned without a permit issued by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources or the Carthage Fire Department. Permits will only be considered for untreated wood wastes. Wastes that may not be burned include but are not limited to tires, rubber products, hazardous materials, Styrofoam, plastics, petroleum-based products, demolition waste, treated wood, any asbestos-containing material, or wiring of any kind.

Open Burning Regulations
Regulations for burning are established to prevent fire damage resulting from open burning activates that get out of control, prevent the discharge of pollutants into the atmosphere, and protect others from hazardous smoke conditions.
