On Friday, September 16th, the Carthage Chamber of Commerce sponsored their annual Golf Scramble at the Carthage Golf Course. 96 golfers teed off at 8:30 for a full morning of golf under a crystal clear sky and excellent, temperate conditions.
The City of Carthage entered two teams; participants included Adam Blankenship, Bill Hawkins, Chad Carney, Ed Keys, Josiah Bayless, Michael Keith, Trent McMain, and Trevor Hole. These employees represented the Police Department, IT Department, and Street Department.
The City's Team 1 (Blankenship, Hawkins, Hole, and McMain) won first place in the "A" Flight with a score of 66. Team 2 shot an on-par 71 for the day. Schmidt CPA & Advisors of Carthage won first place overall in the tournament's Championship Flight, with a low score of 54. Teams from Tom Garrison Construction and Old Missouri Bank rounded out the top three finishers.
